Privacy Policy

What I collect

• Email address — when you sign in with your Google or Apple account, I receive only your email (or the private relay email Apple generates if you choose "Hide My Email"). I never see or store your password — authentication is handled entirely by Google or Apple.
• Video links you submit — the public URLs you ask the app to analyze.
• Your lists — the places you save and share.
• Location (optional) — with your permission, your device's precise location, used only to show places near you on the map. Turn it off anytime in device settings; the app still works.
• Basic usage and crash data — device type, OS version, and error logs, so I can fix bugs and improve the app.

That's it. No contacts, no photos, no social media logins, no browsing history.

What I do with it

I use this data only to run the app: manage your account, analyze the videos you submit, show you maps and lists, and fix problems.

I don't sell your data. There are no ads. I don't share your personal data with anyone for marketing.

Who helps run the app

Like most apps, Hungry Potato runs on trusted service providers, which process data on my behalf:

• Railway — hosting and database
• Supadata — turning public videos into text transcripts
• Anthropic — AI that finds places in those transcripts (transcripts only — never your personal data)
• Google and Apple — sign-in, and (Google) maps and place details
• Sentry — crash reports
• Apple — app distribution

Some of these providers operate outside the UAE (e.g., US/EU); appropriate contractual safeguards apply.

How long I keep it

Your account data and lists are kept while your account exists. Location is used in the moment and not stored as a history. Crash logs are kept for a limited time, then deleted. Delete your account in the app and your personal data is erased within 30 days, except minimal records the law requires me to keep.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete your data, or to export it — just email contactus@hungrypotato.app. You can also withdraw location permission at any time. Depending on where you live (UAE PDPL, GDPR in the EU/UK), these rights are backed by law, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS), sign-in is handled securely by Google and Apple (I never handle passwords), and access to systems is restricted. No app can promise perfect security, but if a breach affects your data, I'll notify you as the law requires.

Age

The app isn't intended for anyone under 16, and I don't knowingly collect data from children. If that happens by mistake, email me and I'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, I'll let you know in the app before it takes effect.
